Do you have free will?
1. Do you believe that you create yourself, life, essence, through your choices?
2. Do you agree with Sartre that we are 100% free to do as we wish? Why or why not
3. Do you take responsibility for your choices? All choices, some of them or very few choices?
4. What do you make of Nietzsche's idea of a ‘will to power'?
5. What do you make of Nietzsche's idea of am ‘ubermensch'? Do you consider yourself as one?
6. What do you think Nietzsche means by saying that ‘God is dead'?
7. Do you agree with Sartre that people do not want to take responsibility for their choices or do not act out on their free will and therefore live an ‘inauthentic life?'
8. The existentialist focus on the moment and the now. How do you understand this idea and how can it impact or not impact your ability to act out on free will?
9. If you had the ability to go back and fix some of your past decisions and actions would you do it? Why or why not?
10. Do you take responsibility for all of your choices and decisions this semester?
