Many of the issues we covered in class, around consumption of wild meat, it's cultural and nutritional importance, and it's risk of zoonotic disease transmission are highly relevant to the origins and repercussions of the Covid-19 outbreak. So let's read some of the news about the role of bushmeat in the Covid-19 outbreak as well as some pieces on Orientalist Food Discourse (i.e. racist attitudes towards Chinese food culture), and compare it to what we have learnt.

What are the similarities and differences between bushmeat consumption in Africa and China? What do you feel should be done about bushmeat?
