Though Psycho was incredibly successful at the time of its release (at least financially), I'm not sure anyone expected it to have the legacy that it does. We're still fascinated by it today, sixty-one years later. In addition to the original film and the novel that it is adapted from, there were two more novels written, three sequel films made in the 1980s and early 1990s, a TV film sequel, a nearly shot-for-shot film remake in 1998, and the television show Bates Motel. What do you believe it is about this film that has fascinated the public and kept it as a major part of our popular culture for all these decades?
