Homework: Political Parties
Length: 500 to 700 words.
For this homework, write a paper in which you complete the following:
1) Research three different political parties that exist within the United States. You must research the Democratic and Republican parties, but you may choose any third party (for example, Libertarian, Green).
2) Describe two issues in which you are interested (for example, abortion, immigration, death penalty, et cetera), and use the official party Web sites to find the party positions on those issues.
3) Compare and contrast the different parties' approaches to the issues. Consider the following questions:
a) What is the position of the Republican, Democratic, and your chosen third party on the policy issues you chose?
b) How do these parties define the issues, and what do they think is the appropriate solution or action?
4) Summarize your views on the parties' positions. Address whether your views about the parties and their policies about the issues changed after you researched the parties' positions.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
(1) The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
(2) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
(3) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
