What do focus groups generate data wise in the research

Problem

I was wondering do focus groups consist of a small group of people being interviewed by a supervisor or trained moderator or potential client or a company sales representative?

Also i was curious if you know which would be least appropriate for a focus research group. Would it be least appropriate to explore emotional responses to a brand logo or quantifying how many us teens prefer youtube over TikTok. Or uncovering the roles kids play in buying food, or understanding consumers reactions to brand logos.

Additionally what do focus groups generate data wise in the research. Would it be primary, secondary, double-sourced, tertiary, or statistical?

In focus groups do you generate quantitative, qualitative, numerical, causal data to gain insight on consumer feelings and thoughts?

Last focus groups are lead by a trained moderator, or company sales representative, or supervisor, or potential client?
