Assignment: Field Observation
Spend time at a day care center, recreation program, or a school. Observe children in the age group three to five at play. Using your knowledge, the concepts provided in the course textbook, and other professional resources, write a one- to two-page paper, addressing the following:
• How will you describe the physical development of children in this age group?
• What is the role of play in the development of children of this age group?
• What did you observe related to the age group at play?
• How will your experience affect your work as a sport psychologist or counselor?
• What were your preconceptions about the group? Which were correct? Which were not?
• What did you learn from this experience?
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
