Examples to guide you include, wearing mismatched shoes for a day, over formal clothes for an informal gathering, eat with your hands instead of silverware. Record the reactions you elicit. Answer the following questions
1. What did you do? Why was it a violation of a folkway? What "values" underlies the folkway you violated?
2. How serious was the violation? How was social control evident? What sanctions did you receive?
3. How did you feel about what you did? How important are folkways to social life?
4. Has this folkway become more or less important to your personality and to society in general?
