This week's discussion is closely related to Chapter 12 in Truth: Playing Defense - Reputation Management. Our author reminds us of a July 2021 case when the furniture retailer Wayfair was (falsely) accused of trafficking children, and the company was forced to confront a surge in conspiracy-driven accusations.
Find two other instances (preferably healthcare related) where an organization's reputation was threatened by fast-spreading false information. Summarize each in a few sentences and draw from each case several reputation-management lessons to share with your classmates. What did the organization do well to protect its reputation? What might it have done better/differently? Share a few broad "lessons" or insights you've gained from researching these examples.
