America has one of the most entrepreneurial economics in the history of man. To a large extent, the founding fathers inculcated that in us by creating bankruptcy laws that favored the debtor more strongly than common law at the time. While it may have been done to protect Virginia farm owners, it was nonetheless a decision that had far-reaching consequences.
