What clinical problem or issue the organization is facing

Discussion Post: Identification of Issue Significant to Nursing Practice

One of the problems the organization I am currently doing my practicum has is shortage of nurses. The ratio of nurse to patients is not appropriate. The shortage placed work stress on the available nurses who are likely faced with nursing burnout. This has implication on both the nurses and the patients alike. Patient's safety is compromised, and nurses' health and license are at risk. Overall patient's satisfaction is lowered.

Studies have shown that nurse's poor health, moderate to high levels of burnout are linked to poor patients care that may lead to medical error and poor standard of care (Hall et al., 2016). Nurses' burnouts are due to overwork stress experienced by the nurses. It makes nurse to have anxiety when they think about their job. They develop the feeling of tiredness, and even depression while doing the job.

These feelings of exhaustion and burnout related issues are responsible for nurses reduced personal achievement, compromise patients' safety, and low patient's satisfaction.

During your practicum, determine what clinical problem or issue the organization is facing. Discuss two implications for nursing.

The response must include a reference list. One-inch margins, double-space, Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font and APA style of writing and citations.
