Effective nursing teamwork has been linked to higher job satisfaction, less nurse turnover, better patient satisfaction, and better patient outcomes. Reflect on your nursing unit (past or present). How well does the staff work as a team on your unit? Describe what the teamwork looks like in your work environment. What challenges can you identify in your work environment as it relates to teamwork? What strategies can be implemented to build a stronger, more effective team?
