Australia was one of the earliest countries in the world to extend voting and political rights to women. However, Kate Ellis and Marian Sawer both suggest that in recent years Australian parliamentary politics has become increasingly unwelcoming to women. Why do women in still feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed? What can be done to make our Parliaments more women- and-family-friendly?
