While both India and China have grown tremendously over the last few decades, China appears to have clearly grown more impressively.
You can look at the respective GDPs over the years.
a) China's GDP grew to $10.8 trillion
b) India's GDP grew to $2.07 trillion
c) China's growth > 33%, whereas India's is > 6%
The more recent figures including the period into the pandemic.
The Fortune Magazine prepares a list of world's billionaires. China shows huge numbers and increasing. India has grown as well. Not in the same pattern.
The World Bank suggests that poverty has been reduced dramatically in China. Though not on the same scale, poverty has also reduced in India. The growth of China and its effects on its population is visible. The rise of a middle class has turned China into a marketer's dream as a huge 'market' for all products such as automobiles.
Some issues to look at from a perspective of globalisation:
a) What reasons can be you attribute for China's GDP growth to outpace India's growth?
b) What can be done by India to match the growth rate of China?
c) What effects do you see the pandemic having on poverty rates in India/China?
