Imagine you are assigned to work with a group of pregnant women with one of the following dependencies; Opioid.
The women expressed concerns about their addictions and the impact on the fetus. You will work with a health and wellness team to develop a mental health education program to help the women quit.
I. Review McCollum's Model of Mental Health Education.
II. Step I: How would you go about designing a program for these women? (Population background and statistic, prevalence of the disorder, disorder overview, treatment location, and cultural implications)
III. Step II: Identify and discuss the screening/assessment tool and program admission criteria.
IV. What behavioral theory or model would apply? Describe.
