Your client, SM Group, is a large diversified Company in the Philippines. The SM Company provides diversified systems and services to the transportation and defense industries in the Philippines. SM Corporation is the parent company of many major divisions: SM Land (Real Estate), Banking System (BP1), Telecommunications (Globe) Water (NAWASA), Transportation Systems (LRT), and many more„ For this case, we will be focusing on Transportation Systems only. The main businesses of RT Transportation Systems is providing of public transport to riding public. To facilitate the easy payment of fare, they contacted MIFARE DESFire EV2; NFC Electronic Component to provide Beep Cards for the riding public to be used in the MRT and LRT trains as their mode of payment and now is being used by some bus companies in the metropolis. The head of SM Transport System is unhappy with the performance of the utilization of the Beep cards. Slow turn over, low number of users, high inventories are some but most alarming scenario. SM Transport asked your consulting firm to figure out what to do with the business.
