Everyone has a cell phone, and there are literally thousands of apps that can be downloaded, the vast majority of them for free. There are concerns regarding very high social media usage and its connection with higher rates of depression, more distracted behavior, instant gratification, and lower academic achievement (Santrock, 2024).
