Cultural learning, much like language learning as a child, occurs both intentionally and unintentionally through the people who most influence us. Our parents and other agents (e.g., teachers, classmates, family members, friends) with whom we interact make up the microsystems that serve to develop children's cultural identities. What are your thoughts regarding the process of enculturation for US children today compared to the enculturation process of children some 40 years ago? Are there differences in the process? What are these differences? WHY are these differences important?
