There is an excellent concept developed by Tom Rath called "Strengths Finder 2.0" - Textbook

The point of the book is to help you find your particular strengths - keeping in mind that there is no right or wrong - there is just different in leadership. And that's the point of this week's work in Chapter 3 in fact, Strengths Finder is discussed on page 49.

I think we live in such a negative, stress filled, in-your-face world these days, that our brains are wired to only focus on what we can't do or what we did wrong. As your text points out, we are hesitant to say, "I do this well."

So - all that said - we will begin to look at how to develop our strengths this week. And, of course, with all that, as leaders we then need to develop and engage others. Not at all easy tasks! So many Health Administration majors come in my office to say in five years they see themselves as the leader - the CEO. Probably not happening ladies -- it takes many many years of experiences to become CEO. You will be leaders, no doubt, but even in the Case Study on p. 69, you'll note that Christine has been at it for many years. This week, in our DB, let's talk about Christine and the questions on page 70.

However, please be sure to take the questionnaire on p. 71 and feel free to reflect on it as you so desire. Go to page 75 and do the develop your business card exercise (Action, 1).

What are your five strengths? What can you take into your current position or the entry level one you will have after graduation that will show your leadership potential?
