Step 1: Write a concise proposal that solves the information management problems in a large company.
Use a word processor (such as MS Word) to write your proposal. In your proposal, address the following questions:
1) What kind of company are you working in? (You may create or copy any kind of company; however, your proposal must specifically address this company's needs.)
2) What are your company's IS goals or needs?
3) What do you think the organizational chart for the company should look like? Be sure to include the IS Operations Group.
4) How will you propose to organize the computing infrastructure?
5) How will you maintain the infrastructure?
6) What are the responsibilities of the IS managers?
7) Should you outsource all or part of the responsibilities? Why or why not?
8) What are the user rights and responsibilities for your company's employees (within the IS department and outside of the IS department) with regard to the IS department?
9) How much do you think your proposal elements will cost the company? Make a brief list of expenses, including personnel.
