The reading assignments for this week review a number of different types of applications used in healthcare organizations to manage their office and business needs. Not every organization makes use of every one of these tools, however. What are the underlying business and clinicial processes that make administrative and clinical information systems necessary? Also, what challenges might an organization face when it decides to move from manual processes towards using technology?
