Support activities help primary activities through providing infrastructure which allows them to take place ongoing basis. These activities as like procurement, hiring the personnel, infrastructure (that is, general management planning, R&D, quality management and government activities), accounting and legal activities and many more are handled by different departments. The value chain comprises a profit margin creating value which exceeds costs so as to produce a return for the effort.
