What are the stages of meiosis

Problem:

Question 1: When you are using the punnet squares , what is this information telling you about the segregation of heterozygous alleles during meiosis? If your cross two heterozygotes for an alleles where one of the alleles is dominant and the other recessive, what would expect to be the genotypic ratios and the phenotypic ratios

Question 2: What are the stages of meiosis? Where does the reduction in the number of chromosomes occur? What stage do the centromeres divide. What is the importance of mieosis. What types of cells does it occur in? Where are these cells found.

Question 3: What is a homologous chromosome? A homologous pair? What is the difference in the way homologous pairs of chromosomes behave in mitosis, and mieosis?

Question 4: What is the importance of dominance in a genetic trait and the importance of being diploid?

Question 5: In snapdragon flowers, Red flowers which are homozygous (RR) are crossed with white flowers which are homozygous recessive (rr) The offspring are all Pink. What type of dominance does this show? What is the genotype of the pink flowers. If we crossed a pink flower with a red flower, how many will be pink? How many will be red? How many will be white? What if we crossed a pink flower with a white flower? What proportions of colors would result. What if we crossed two heterozygous flowers?
