What are the special considerations required to be taken in maintenance of implants?
The procedures for maintenance of patients with implants are similar to those with natural teeth with three differences:
i) Special instruments that will not scratch the implants are used for calculus removal on the implants.
ii) Acidic fluoride prophylactic agents are avoided.
iii) Non abrasive prophy pastes are used.
