Discussion Post: Current Health Issues
A. Conduct an internet search for a current event affecting health at the local, state, national, or international level.
B. Focus on events or problems that have an impact on the health of aggregates, communities, states, or nations.
C. Identify the sources of your information and critique their reliability.
D. Discuss your findings and respond to the following questions:
a. Who is at risk? Are some persons or groups affected more than others?
b. What are the most likely adverse outcomes?
c. What solutions are being offered? Are they likely to be effective from the perspective of nursing in the community?
d. What primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention interventions or programs would you propose?
e. What implications does the issue/problem have for community/public health nurses?
f. How do your nursing education and your understanding of epidemiology equip you to address this problem?
The response should include a reference list. Using double-space, Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
