Discussion: New Servers
In this discussion, you will play the role of either the procurement specialist or the technology manager based on the month in which you were born:
• January - June: Procurement specialist
• July - December: Technology manager
The client has just added 25 new employees and has determined that it is time to procure new server hardware as a result. The technology manager must specify the requirements for these servers. The procurement specialist then makes recommendations for specific products he/she thinks will meet these requirements. The technology manager and procurement specialist must then collaborate to determine the best choice based on the needs of the organization.
If you are a technology manager, create your initial post by addressing the following questions:
• What are the most important considerations for the motherboard that you feel will meet the needs of the company's servers?
• What are the requirements for the cache and main memory to meet these needs?
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
