What are the issues surrounding affirmative action in case

Assignment

Research an affirmative action court case (a case that has or is going through the judicial system) that is not mentioned in the textbook. The age of the case does not matter. Once you have located your court case, you will write a case study that includes the following:

1. Summarize (in your own words) the history and outcome of your chosen court case.

2. What are the issues surrounding affirmative action in this case? Is a part of the law being challenged?

3. Do you agree or disagree with the specific findings of the case?

4. Now that you have explained the case, please provide your own opinion regarding affirmative action.

In your response, please include the following:

- Describe the positives and negatives.
- How successful has affirmative action been in correcting inequalities?
- Should affirmative action be continued forever or discontinued at some point?

Your paper should be at least 500 words in length or two full pages in length. While you may include your opinion in this assignment, please avoid using the first person "I."

Additionally, you are required to use at least one outside source to support your opinion. You may choose the article in the required reading or a different source of choice.

Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:

1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.

2. The response also include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.

3. Also Include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
