Dementia is a disease, generally chronic and progressive in nature. There is a deterioration in cognitive function that is beyond "normal aging". In 2013 the number of individuals living with dementia surpassed 44 million. What are the growing risk factors for dementia? Choose one or two of the different types of dementia and discuss the risk factors, (controlled and uncontrolled). Why is dementia a global problem, especially in low and middle-income countries?
