What are the factors you think went into making choice

Discussion Post: Current Affairs

I usually don't do two Current Affairs that are somewhat similar, but I really liked this one as it is much related to Ohio and new jobs possibly opening up.

Pelton is opening up its first factory in the US, and actually very close to BGSU! One of the reasons for this is the problems they have been having with shipping into the US. What are some of the factors you think went into making this choice for this global company to open up in the US first, and specifically Ohio? What advantages does Ohio have that made this a good location for this company to consider opening here? Also do you think the State government worked with the company to give it any tax incentives to bring the company? If so, is that a good thing for governments to do in order to attract FDI?

The other topic I thought was very interesting was the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protest in China.

Several companies decided to ignore this anniversary. My question to you is has China become so important to companies that they need to pull back from issues like Taiwan, this, and anything else the Chinese government deems to be a hot topic? Do companies have a 'duty' to speak up? What are your thoughts on this article?
