What are the Effects of Temperature variations
Different minerals present in the rock behave differently to the changing temperatures. The rocks expand on getting heated at day time due to sun's heat and shrink at night on cooling. The alternating heating and cooling of the rocks generates a kind of stress which eventually causes cracks in the soil.
