They went there to file a suit against a furniture store for problems with their lease agreement. The clerk, in reviewing the contract, set them up for alternative resolution of their dispute pursuant to the contract.
They know you are taking this class and ask you to explain:
What alternative dispute resolution is - how would you explain this to them
What are the different types of alternative resolutions
Why is this type of resolution used to resolve situations
What can they expect in this process
What are the advantages of using this system
