ASSESSMENT - NEW GRADUATE APPLICATION
PART A - 600 words
Intent: For students to be able to competently address the selection criteria of a job application. For students to research a Local Health District (LHD) they are interested in working in, to the level required to adequately prepare for a job interview.
Provide a 150 word response for the following selection criterion:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
AND THREE (3) others from the list below:
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team.
- A demonstrated understanding of the role of the Registered Nurse in applying continuous improvement and quality and safety.
- A demonstrated understanding of NSW Health's CORE Values - Collaboration, Openness, Respect, Empowerment.

PART B -
Identify a Local Health District (LHD) in NSW and answer the following questions in your OWN words. (400 words).
(a) What are the values of this LHD - make reference to their mission statement and strategic goals in your answer. (100 words).
(b) What are the research priorities of this LHD - make reference to nursing in your answer. (100 words).
(c) What support is available for new graduate nurses and which aspects of this attract you to this LHD? (100 words).
(d) What are the demographics of the population this LHD serves? (50 words).
(e) Why do you want to apply for a new graduate position in this LHD? (50 words).
