Problem
Observe a site for at least 4 hours to determine nonverbal and verbal patterns of communication. Use Hymes's (1974) SPEAKING model to guide your observations. Some questions to consider in your 1 to 2 page response (APA format and citation required):
i. What impact does the site have on the participants?
ii. What patterns of communication emerge at the site because of the participants' actions?
iii. What are the communicative norms? How do you know?
iv. What nonverbal communications can you understand through your patterned observation?
v. What is the impact and meaning of nonverbal communication to the overall culture?
