CHALLENGE OF TERRORISM AGAINST THE UNITED STATES

Q1 Establishing terrorism as a crime that can be committed domestically and hence a domestic threat has really changed policing since it is an internal danger that cannot be hard-pressed to the background anymore. A survey made by a university in the United States inspected a hundred and fourteen cases of terrorist acts that were not associated with jihadists compared to the 187 cases of extremism performed by Islam in the United States of America at the same period of time. Of the examined cases, some involved plans that were stopped and hence became unsuccessful (Chivvis & Liepman, 2016).

Cases in point of domestic terrorism include plan that was made by Earl Krugelin the year 2001, he was an associate of the Defense Group of the Jews, he had plans to bring down an office in the city of Culver and the February 2010 perversity attack that happened in the year 2010 in Texas, a guy by the name Andrew J Stack III soared his plane into an office block in Austin, this incident killed one individual and several others got injured.

Dealing with domestic terrorism is challenging than even trying the prevalence of cases of jihadist terror. Cases of domestic terrorism are usually tried under a collection laws such as violation of explosives and weapons, destruction of property and plots of fire-bombing. In this case, the police have to be more vigilant and come up with new techniques of curbing the attacks from within (Chivvis & Liepman, 2016).

Q2 There are numerous cases of black people being killed by police officers, many people might have complained about the officers who are biased due to factors of race but there are no sufficient data that explains about the act. Mr. Comey who is the director of F.B.I s described the fact that there is no data explaining the shootings of black men is very ridiculous. There is a bunch of researches done by scholars, investigations done by media personalities and also officials and rulings of the court concerning racism and enforcement of the regulations.

Almost twenty findings have been collected and stored. It explains the presently available information. Some researches show evidences of intended unfairness while other studies explain on how factors of the society or the institutions have led to an unspoken bias. These examinations show how the race of an individual in the state affects his or her experiences with the police officers. Whereby when one comes across an officer, that chance of meeting may end up with the officer using force or even being shot (Gross &Livingstone, 2002).

Q3 The first to the fifth laws of the fourteenth and thirteenth modification of the US constitution protect the human rights of the individuals. Also under the civil rights act of the year 1965, the due process and the equal protection clauses, the individuals' rights are protected. There are also other collections of laws available in the state that cater for the rights of victims. Nevertheless, victims can search for guidelines and make contact with their members of council, senators, representatives, associations that are associated in attending to victims and shielding the national laws otherwise the police for help (Gross &Livingstone, 2002).

Q4 Other actions that can be performed on behalf of sufferers of racial bias include reporting the incidences as soon as possible to the superiors in the authorities who will enforce the laws. Furthermore, pulling out an edict for internal viciousness, together with guarding your belongings and you as an individual by making sure that you have an authorized weapon you can use in cases of crises, ensure doors and windows are lockable, also alarms should be functional, Persons can make contact with the media, neighboring security agencies, close friends, families, and their loved ones for provision of security (Gross &Livingstone, 2002).

Q5 The department of Homeland Security has really helped in shunning terrorism in so many ways. First and foremost, they have a program that is used to raise awareness in the public on signs of terrorist attacks and related cases, it also emphasizes on the significance of reporting mistrustful actions to the law societies or the appropriate authorities so that they can deal with the cases in a professional way (Thacher,2005).

Department of Homeland Security works so hard to improve the capabilities of the nation to lessen the risks of explosions against important infrastructures, the nation, and the private section, native, ethnic and also the regional entities.

The same department provides chemical security, it secures production, use and also transportation of chemicals from threats such as accidents and terrorist attacks. This is because such chemicals could be stolen to be used to make weaponries. If terrorists succeed in attacking such facilities and getting away with risky substance, they could end up harming or killing a very large number of individuals which is a very hazardous thing. Last but not least, the department protects food security of the nation from bioterrorist attacks, this is only done by provision of early detections or rather predictions (Thacher, 2005).
