You discussed the use of direct (teacher-centered) and indirect (student-centered) instructional strategies as well as meaningful integration of technology-based tools for the classroom. The emphasis of this week's learning is assessment: the purposes and types, how to use assessment data, and using rubrics to evaluate student learning.
Respond to the following in a minimum of 100 words:
1) Why is it important to have a variety of assessment measures when evaluating student learning? What are the benefits and challenges of using products and performance to assess student learning? Explain and provide specific examples to support your response.
2) What are some ways to incorporate formative assessments into a lesson? What are the benefits of formative assessments?
3) What are some web-based tools you found in your discussion research last week that can be used to create and deliver formative assessments?
