Earth's sun plays a role in the Epic of Gilgamesh as the sun god Shamash. Describe the role of the sun in the epic, including relationships between the sun and other characters such as Gilgamesh.
II. Humans' relationship with nature is a recurring theme in the epic. What are some examples from the epic that illustrate this relationship? For example, why was Enkidu feared when he was a "wild" man? What "domesticated" him? What are some other incidents within the epic that explore themes of humans' relationship with nature?
III. Discuss Gilgamesh as a leader including the peoples' expectations of a leader, and how Gilgamesh's leadership was affected by his journey
