Problem
There is clear empirical evidence that outcomes that matter to work in our contemporary society (e.g., educational attainment, occupational attainment, pay, and unemployment) are patterned by key demographic variables (e.g., race/ethnicity, social class, and gender, etc.). what are some of the ways we could change the ways social inequalities impact work experiences and work outcomes in our society? In addition to what we could maybe do in our individual lives (i.e., private troubles), what kinds of things could we address at the structural levels of society (i.e., public issues)? What are some of the potential problems/roadblocks to this kind of structural change? Draw on resources in this module in your answer.
