What are some of the issues involved in the situation

Problem

You have recently entered into therapy with a 31 year old client named Sidney who has been diagnosed by a local psychiatrist as Bipolar and who has been through a series of brief hospitalizations over the past two years. Your client has recently begun to reconstruct a semblance of a life, and in the process, has moved in with an old friend the client has known for years. The focus of your psychotherapeutic interaction has gradually been dominated by the problems your client has been experiencing with this new roommate (e.g., the roommate's lack of cleanliness, propensity to engage in unsafe sex with strangers, failure to submit to your client's directives or wishes). The weekend after your discussion of the roommate problems with Sidney, you are at a bar and meet an exceptionally attractive individual with whom you immediately bond and begin spending all of your free time. Your relationship with your new significant other is progressing at a rapid rate and is unlike any other relationship that either of you have experienced. After only a few days you profess your love to one another, begin engaging in intimate encounters, playfully speak of the possibility of marriage, and tell all of your friends that this person is definitely the "One." On the Friday after having met this new love interest, your new significant other invites you over for the first time so that the two of you can experience a romantic dinner together. You have to tell your new partner that dinner will have to be after you see your last client at 6 pm (which is Sidney). You hurriedly finish your work after seeing Sidney and jet over to your significant other's home. Your new partner greets you at the door with the news that a roommate has refused to leave for the evening, meaning you two will not be completely alone. Upon entering the living room of your significant other's house, you make eye contact with your client, Sidney, as Sidney is begrudgingly walking up the stairs to a bedroom.
