What are some examples specific african countries of both

It's important to note that Africans contributed to the Allied war effort during World War II. This occurred both at the battle front and the factories. The contributions made by Africans for the most part benefited their mother countries (France and Britain in particular). After the war, many Africans began to demand their independence. After the war, it became more and more difficult for the mother countries to maintain their control of the African colonies. Africans therefore began to resist colonial rule and be more and more successful in doing so. Some citizens resisted peacefully, while others waged violent warfare.

As we'll see, some independence struggles were pacifistic while some were violent.

What are some examples (specific African countries) of both peaceful independence movements, and violent independence movements?
