You are expected to write a 250 word essay on any of the topics below as relates to epidemiology.
What are "secular trends" and "cohort effects" in epidemiology? What is the essential difference between the two?
What are "temporal clustering" and "spatial clustering" in descriptive epidemiology? What is the significance of each type of clustering?
Explain the term "population at risk" and provide at least two relevant examples as seen in the practice of modern epidemiology.
Differentiate among ratios, proportions, and rates as used in epidemiology today. Define each of these measurements, and briefly describe its importance in community health.
Part 2
After writing about the topic do the following (2 pages ):
Once you have chosen your topic, you will need to submit an outline of your preliminary research with at least two scholarly references. Within your outline, discuss why you chose your topic, possible subtopics for focus (at least two), possible research questions you could investigate, and the relevance of your two scholarly references to your research.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
