1. This documentary features many different kinds of technological innovations in the 21st century. What are some of the different kinds of technologies presented? Would you prefer if the documentary focused only on one kind of technology? Why or why not?
2. Is this film biased in favor of or against technology? How can you tell? Is there a slant, or do you think the presentation is balanced? If there is a bias, do you see any counterarguments? Where do they occur?
3. Think about presentation. This documentary is shown in a very chaotic way, changing the subject frequently from one topic and visual stimulus to another. What do you think the director's intention for this was? Do you like the approach, or would you prefer a more orderly presentation?
4. Let's think about paratext (documentary presentation). What kinds of techniques does this documentary employ (facts/statistics, quotations, live footage, interviews, commercials, reenactments)? Which ones did you see most? Which ones were most effective to you?
5. What are some parts of the documentary that you thought were strong? What do you think was not so effective? Would you like to see more on any of the topics presented? What was your favorite part of the documentary? Was there anything that was confusing to you or that you wanted more information about?
6. What are some of the positive uses of technology that the documentary presented? What are some of the negative ones? Do the positives outweigh the negatives?
7. Bina-48 is a highly-advanced humanoid robot who recently became a "citizen" of Saudi Arabia. Do you think there is a place in the future for sentient robots like Bina-48, or do you feel threatened at the sight of her? What do you think some of the uses of these robots might be? How far should we extend human rights to them?
