1. What are medical uses of amphetamines? What do amphetamines do to the Central Nervous System? Describe 4 different amphetamines.
2. What can result from prolonged use or large doses of amphetamines?
3. What is the relationship between methamphetamine and crime? Does Missouri really have a bad methamphetamine problem as compared with other states? What are symptoms of meth use?
4. Compare statistics on the use of cocaine and amphetamines from the 1960’s to the present to see how drug abuse has changed and passed through drug fads.
5. What is the link between amphetamines (including cocaine & crack) and criminal activity? This will require some Internet searches. Remember cocaine use peaked in 1985, crack in 1984). Is it as much of a problem today as it was in the 1980’s?
