What are some Recommendations to improve Performance Outcomes (Explain and expand upon what is meant by performance outcomes).
Things for Me to Ask - A Representative of the Prince Georges County (PGC) election board:
1) What are their goals?
2) How do they measure to determine if there goals have been achieved (what are their performance measurements)
3) Have they looked at other counties they have performed better or have improved as a model, if so which counties.(research other counties in Maryland that have made improvements/changes)
4) Do they have a booklet of their current Standard Operating Procedures
5) What are the current laws/rules/procedures used in the process to ensure voting is successful ( maximum/optimal voter turnout. Is it a goal of there's to increase it.
6) What are issues or concerns they would like me to focus on when conducting my research.
(my suggestion is voter turnout and gaining public trust - which may ultimately increase voter turnout.) ( my thoughts are if they can assure the voting population that there votes will be accounted for by proper balloting then more people will vote consistently.
My paper must focus on action research - (does not have to follow a case study model). Must focus on how i (as a public administrator) can conduct research with the goal of improving the election board as a whole. Potentially i can come up with recommendations that could ultimately be adapted as standard operating procedures in pgc and potentially other counties.
I should ask and be able to answer - how can I as a pubic administrator, improve the election process in PGC. Standard Operating Procedures.
Thus come up with recommendations and procedures that any county can adopt.
