Problem: On a daily basis, maternity nurses work with pregnant women and their families. Therefore, we must educate ourselves on the different types of families and their cultural implications in the community. As nurses, we must know the essential values that we must employ when intervening with varying types of families. What are the attitudes and values expected of a nursing professional when working with pregnant women and their families? What influence can our own moral values, attitudes, and behaviors have when intervening with them according to different types of culture?
