What animal cognition include

Assignment task: Can you provide answers to the following questions to be used as a study guide:

Cognition

1. Topics of interest in animal cognition include imagination, theory of mind, planning and self-control. Complex cognition depends on a ''tool kit'' consisting of causal reasoning, flexibility, imagination, and prospection.

2. Consciousness often refers to linguistic abilities to describe what, when, how, and self. What we mean by consciousness must be defined by a set of behaviors. Only then can neural correlates be identified

3. And why do we care about these types of questions?  Education, conservation, protection, understanding human issues, understanding cognition without language

4. Convergent evolution. Once we have observed that the same form or function has evolved independently in different species, we ask: What environmental stressors or constraints might have produced this feature (e.g. low visibility separately evolving echolocation in bats and whales)? What genetic underpinnings or phylogeny support these features? Why is this important to a species?

5. Timing. Interval Timing, peak procedure, schedules of Reinforcement, foraging distribution, circadian rhythms
