What affect did collection and label have on career

Marc Jacobs and Isaac Mizrahi have similar backstories in the fashion world. Both attended the Parsons School of Design, both were recognized as star talents early on, and both started out working at Perry Ellis, and then left to start their own companies during the late '80s- early '90s, which was when their careers really started to take off.  They have both designed for other brands and companies, as well as producing lines under their own names.  For this assignment, your instructor will assign you, or allow you to choose, one of these two designers for your focus.  Then follow the instructions for that designer.
