What a great example you found in Apple. As a brand notorious for its technology, the fact that even its power in its market can't help the shipping delays really highlight how broken the system is - and their dependency on the chips from Korea and Japan. It is both a good thing and a bad thing they will be investing in on shoring their technology. Good for the American technology market that Apple is looking to become fully homegrown, or as close as possible, but bad for the average consumer who might already struggle to afford their products.
Just-in-time was born out of our desire to have things "right now" and the fast-food style world we have built for ourselves. Since this is clearly not sustainable, do you think our society will start to change to learn patience?
