We talked about coaches receiving academic related bonuses

Ethical dilemmas happen frequently in sport. Please read the following two ethical dilemmas and provide an educated and well thought out response on how you would handle the dilemma. Please provide 3-4 paragraphs for each response.

1) The NBA announced today it was pulling the 2017 NBA All-Star Game from Charlotte, NC over the controversial legislation that is seen as anti-LGBT.  Please read this article for more information:https://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba-pulls-2017-all-star-game-from-charlotte-focuses-on-new-orleans-190148437.html (Links to an external site.) If you were the commissioner of the NBA, would you make the same decision to pull the All-Star Game from Charlotte, NC or would you be ok with having the All-Star Game still take place in that state?

2) We talked about coaches receiving academic related bonuses for their teams performing well academically.  Please read this article for more information:https://deadspin.com/college-football-coaches-are-making-millions-off-a-usel-1742644295 (Links to an external site.) Please note, this article is a bit biased against coaches receiving the bonuses but I thought it was helpful.  As I mentioned, I could argue both sides of this because I see the power of influence a coach can have over a student-athlete performing well academically.  However, this is your opportunity to provide your feedback as to whether or not you would provide academic bonuses for your head coaches if you were an athletic director.  Some athletic directors provide bonuses for teams that historically do not perform well like basketball and football but do not provide those said bonuses for teams that typically perform well academically like golf and tennis.  If you were an athletic director, would you provide academic bonuses and what is your rationale?
