Was the alleged contract between schultz and the plaintiffs

Plaintiff, a minor, alleged that his grandfather Schultz had made an oral contract with the plaintiff through his mother. In this alleged contract, Schultz agreed to give the plaintiff certain real estate if the plaintiff’s mother would name the plaintiff after him. The plaintiff’s parents accepted the proposal because they had in fact already named their son after Schultz. Schultz, however, never arranged for the title of the property to pass to the plaintiff. He did deliver possession of the real estate to the plaintiffs parents. The plaintiff requested that the court determine that he is the absolute owner of the real estate. Was the alleged contract between Schultz and the plaintiff’s mother supported by consideration and therefore enforceable? [Lanifer v. Lanifer, 227 Iowa 258, 288 N.W. 104 (Iowa, 1939).]
