Very recent information from the military indicates that multiple deployments for men and women greatly increases the odds of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) much more than previously expected. Both the Afghanistan and the Iraq wars are long in duration. More than 40% of the two million men and women deployed to serve in both conflicts have served at least two tours of duty; many are on their third and fourth deployment. Discuss the impact this has on the mental health of returning military personnel. Where will treatment be provided? How will the treatment be paid for? Please cite your sources.
