• The purpose of this assignment is to center ideologies, philosophies and values within Indigenous policy development. In these discussion you are to explore ideas and thoughts about policies that have oppressed Indigenous peoples; strategies of decolonization and ways in which policies are being regenerated/ revitalized for and by Indigenous people. Also what is your role in the transformation of Indigenous policy making? In each of your postings you are to include references from course readings or other books articles that will strengthen your points.
• Based on readings from Units 2, 3, 4 (and your own experiences), provide two examples of “institutional approaches” (policies) which have affected Indigenous Peoples.
• Discuss your meaning making of decolonization and regeneration put forth in these articles and how you might apply them in your practice. Please note you must make clear links to a minimum of 5 course content sources such as readings/podcasts/videos in articulating your responses and cite any material you reference.
• What are your thought about how to work effectively with policies or practice standards, laws that appear to marginalize Indigenous peoples as a social worker?
